The LGBT Friendly Certificate is a project of the City of Ljubljana. It is primarily aimed at raising awareness as LGBT people face embarrassment, problems and discrimination that heterosexual and / or cissexual people sometimes do not even notice, as they come from their own point of view (such as talking about a partner, about children). The goal is to create a positive climate for everyone within the work environment and outward to customers, users.
Awareness raising is carried out through the training of management personnel of individual organizations. The training covers topics related to fundamental human rights and the specific needs of LGBT people. The executives then transfer their knowledge to their colleagues and make sure that the idea of equal access to all and the guarantee of fundamental human rights is taken into account among employees and externally towards clients, users.
Non-governmental organizations that provide training for the “LGBT Friendly” Certificate: the Association Informational Center Legebitra , the Association ŠKUC and the Transfeminist initiative TransAction.
